The embattled Budalangi lawmaker, Ababu Namwamba, has been suspended from Parliament procedding for the next four days. This is followed with deprivation of his privileges after he refused to apologize to members of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) for linking them to corruption without substantial evidence as well as for breaching Parliament’s code of conduct.
Namwamba declined to withdraw his corruption allegations against PAC members and apologize saying by doing so he would

“compromise the ongoing investigations by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).”

The Budalangi MP stood his ground and refused to be bent completely saying his conscience cannot allow him to
apologize for something he knows is true.

“My conscience cannot allow me to apologize for what I know is true. My apology and withdrawal of the matter may
also compromise EACC’s investigations. I therefore decline to withdraw and apologize,”

said the defiant Namwamba.

“I’ll never apologize for being  correct. I know I am right that’s why I am not afraid to speak my mind,”

he added.
