President Uhuru Kenyatta on today has made major changes to the military and the government, most notably replacing Francis Kimemia as Secretary to the Cabinet and appointing a new Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces.
New Appointments are as Follows:
Samson J. Mwathethe promoted from Lieutenant-General to General and appointed Chief of the Defence Forces, succeeding General Julius Karangi who has retired. Gen Mwathethe was previously the Vice Chief of the Defence Forces.
Vice Chief of the Defence Forces: Lt-Gen Joseph K. Kasaon – . Lt-Gen Kasaon was the Army Commander
Army Commander: Major-General Leonard M. Ngondi –
Ministry of Water and Irrigation Services (New) Cabinet Secretary : Eugene Wamalwa
Secretary to the Cabinet : Amb. Monica Juma nominated replacing Francis Kimemia.
Principal Secretary, Department of Interior, Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government : Retired Major-General Gordon Kihalangwa
Secretary of Delivery in the Executive Office of the President: Nzioka Waita
