JKUAT JOB VACANCIES

JKUAT seeks to recruit suitable candidates to fill the following positions:
1. JKUAT HOSPITAL:   
SENIOR PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICER – GRADE 12: REF: JKU/ADM/SPHO/08/15 (1 Post)  
Applicants must:  
 
• Have a Masters Degree in Public Health or Environmental Health Science or equivalent and five (5) years
experience at Grade 11 or equivalent position
• Be registered with a relevant professional body
2. DEPARTMENT OF ENGINEERING WORKSHOP
Machine Shop  
 i.  Technologist I, Grade 8: REF: JKU/ADM/EWi/TI/7/7/15 – one (1) post  
Applicants must possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Production Option) OR a
Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized Institution.
Motor Vehicle Shop  
 
ii. Technologist I, Grade 8: REF: JKU/ADM/EWii/TI/7/7/15 – one (1) post  
Applicants must possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Automotive Option) OR a
Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized Institution.
iii. Technologist II, Grade 7: REF: JKU/ADM/EWi/TII/7/7/15 – one (1) post  
Applicants must possess a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Automotive Option) or equivalent qualification
with at least five (5) years relevant experience in Grade 6. Those with special skills in autoelectrics will have an
added advantage.
Welding shop  
i.  Technologist II, Grade 7: REF: JKU/ADM/EWii/TII/7/7/15 – one (1) post
Applicants must possess a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Welding and Fabrication Option) or equivalent
qualification with at least five (5) years relevant experience in Grade 6.
Masonry Shop  
i. Technologist I, Grade 8: REF: JKU/ADM/EWiii/TI/7/7/15 – one (1) post
Applicants must possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Building and Civil Engineering OR a Higher National
Diploma in Building and Civil Engineering from a recognized Institution.
ii. Technologist II, Grade 7: REF: JKU/ADM/EWiii/TII/7/7/15 – one (1) post
Applicants must possess a Diploma in Building and Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification with at least
five (5) years relevant experience in Grade 6.
3.  DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY:  TUTORIAL FELLOW / ASSISTANT
LECTURER – JKU/ACA/IT/TF-AL/08/15 (For various JKUAT Campuses)
Requirements:
Applicants for this position must:
Have a Masters Degree in Information Technology   Be ready to register for their PhD
Successful candidates will be appointed on contract for two years renewable once for another two years
during which time he/she should have obtained the PhD.
