KCSE candidates should expect their results in the second week of January 2017, government has said.

Kiraithe told journalists on Friday that KCPE examiners will report to the various marking centres from Saturday, November 12.

“On November 12, all examiners will report for actual marking of candidate scripts. Processing of KCPE examination results will be done concurrently,” Kiraithe said.

He said the date for the release of the examination results will be determined by the Kenya national examination council in liaison with the education ministry.
With respect to the KCSE, Kiraithe said the examinations had been progressing well at the 9,157 centers across the country.
He said 25 KCSE marking centres have already been identified and settled on.

“Examination papers will be returned from examination centers as they are completed. Receiving, sorting and packing of scripts in readiness for dispatch to the marking centers has been scheduled to take place between November 8 and December 13, 2016,” the spokesman said.
“So far, the examinations have been running smoothly, it is evident that the measures put in place by the government to curb cheating and restore confidence in the national examination system have worked,” he said.

Kiraithe said KNEC and the ministry are reviewing instances where minor anomalies or challenges have been reported.
He said the examinations—which include new security features—were printed externally and flown into the country within days of the commencement of exams.

“The whole examination process is being rigorously overseen by KNEC and the ministry of education,” he said. – Via The Star kenya
