Today President Uhuru Kenyatta presided over the passing-out parade of 3,933 new officers at the Kenya Police Training College in Kiganjo, Nyeri county.
Uhuru said the government has dedicated more resources to modernising and equipping the police service.
The President congratulated the new officers on completing the rigorous training regime and urged them to serve with patriotism.
“As you go out to serve, I ask you all to discharge your duties with patriotism, devotion and commitment. This is no job for the faint-hearted; the security of our people and their property is now in your hands,” he said.
He noted that only the most patriotic and diligent of youths can bear the “heavily responsibility”.
Among those Uhuru awarded were Ewoton Tatan (best all-round male recruit), Susan Mureithi (best all-round female recruit) and Denilson Abuga (best recruit in academics).
