KMTC vs KUCCPS Court Ruling:Attorney General Orders Admission of All students

0
More than 5,000 Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) students can now breathe a sigh of relief after the Attorney General Githu Muigai instructed that they be admitted to the college.

Prof Muigai also ordered that all the cases in court be withdrawn and an administrative solution sought to end the stalemate between the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service ( KUCCPS) and KMTC.
The Standard has established that a meeting chaired by Muigai last week on Friday resolved that a way be found to admit all the students listed by KUCCPS and KMTC.
KUCCPS had selected 2,302 students while KMTC had listed another 3,015 to be admitted to the 42 colleges.
Education Cabinet Secretary Jacob Kaimenyi and his Health counterpart James Macharia attended the meeting. KUCCPS and KMTC management were also present.
The meeting followed a directive from Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua. A letter from the AG’s office to KMTC and KUCCPS chief executive officers issued a seven-day deadline for the withdrawal of the court cases. Source: Standard Digital
