The former NTV Uganda English news anchor, Rosemary, Nankabirwa is dead. NTV Kenya has confirmed this.
Nankabirwa, who was battling adrenocortical carcinoma cancer, had been hospitalised at Cancer institute and Heart institute at Mulago hospital before she was flown to Nairobi Aga Khan Hospital on Saturday afternoon for more specialized treatment that could not be offered in Uganda.
VIDEO: Rosemary Nankabirwa, a former News anchor at NTV Uganda, has this afternoon passed away after losing a battle against cancer at Aga Khan hospital in Nairobi. Nankabirwa was the first female News Anchor at NTV at the time of its inception in December 2006.
On Surtarday, NTV was seeking Shs100 million to facilitate the treatment of her of which thousands of well-wishers responded to a car wash fundraising drive at Serena Hotel Kampala and raised over sh100m for her treatment.
People loved you Nankabirwa. You were a blessing on earth. I guess you had finally completed your journey on earth. But you have touched hundreds of hearts on your way. May your soul rest in peace. Amen…
