Road Accident Along Jogoo Road Leaves 3 Seriously Injured

A Car crush road accident at Church Army along Jogoo road involving four vehicles has left 3 seriously injured and several with minor injuries in a chain of bumper to bumper hit.
The car crush involved a Honda, KBC 433S, that was trying to avoid knocking down a pedestrian who was crossing on a zebra crossing from the side of Church Army/Carlile College’s gate. Unfortunately the pedestrian was hit and left with injuries after the Honda car was hit from behind by a Subaru Impreza KAW 581E that was trailing behind was hit and pushed.
According to the eye witnesses, the lorry KBK 686A, whose drive seemed to neglegate the rule of “keeping a distance” crushed into the bumper of the City Tram Public Service Vehicle (PSV) that was behind the Subaru Impreza.

The accident caused a huge traffic snurl up on Jogoo road from City Stadium to Church Army (scene of accident) for over 30 minutes before normalcy was restored by a traffic officer from Makongeni police station who was assigned on the route reported to the scene.
Those injured were rushed to hospital while the vehicles involved were towed to Makongeni station for the occupants to record statement.Among those seriously injured was a lady and two men
Before vacating the scene of the crush, the traffic officer urged pedestrians and motorists to observe traffic rules especially during this festive season to avoid injuries and save lives.
