Former KMTC Nakuru Campus Principal Peter K Tum Appointed as New KMTC Director by Cabinet Secretary.
Tum’s appointment is contained in a letter by Health Cabinet Secretary Mr. James Macharia on November 13, 2015 to the KMTC Board Chairman Prof. Philip Kaloki.
“I have appointed Mr. Peter K. Tum, who as per the Board submissions consistently scored highest in the recruitment process”, the CS wrote. He will hold it on a three-year contract, adds the letter.
Tum held the position in an acting capacity since April 8, 2015 pending the appointment of a substantive KMTC Director. The position fell vacant following former Director Dr. C. Olang’o Onudi’s expiry of term of office in July 2015.

An advertisement for the position was placed in the dailies on October 16, 2015, attracting 25 applicants. Following rigorous interviews, the Board of Directors submitted three top applicants to the CS, with Tum leading the pack.
Mr. Tum is the immediate former Principal of KMTC Nakuru, one of the largest campuses in the college.
He holds a Masters Degree in Energy Management from the University of Nairobi, a Bachelor of industrial Technology from Egerton University and a post- graduate diploma in Medical electronics from the University of London.
Mr. Tum comes with a wealth of experience having held several positions as Principal of KMTC Nakuru, KMTC Nairobi campus’ Medical Engineering department head and Senior Principal Lecturer at KMTC Nairobi.
