Annual recruitment for the National Youth Service is finally here. Since the restructuring and rebranding of the organization last year, it has emerged as a powerful tool for youth empowerment across the country.

The service is now recruiting 20,000 youth per year who will pupil over 200,000 community youth throughout their nation building activities. Additionally the service is now involved in massive development projects all over the country. This has been of significant consequence in Kibera, Mathere, Mkuru Kwa Njenga, Korogocho and Kiandutu. Some of the many massive accomplishments include construction of ablution blocks, a 3.1 km road, 72 fish tanks, 30 showcase model houses, new sewer lines and a Huduma Centre.
The restructuring and rebranding was substantial enough to attract visits from delegations from Ghana and Lesotho to come learn how to implement similar programs in their countries. Moreover, the NYS rebrand received recognition from the Marketing Society of Kenya. All these changes and developments only add onto the long list of reasons why any member of the Kenyan should join NYS. There is no higher honour than that of serving your country, stand up and be counted, join NYS during this phase of recruitment.
