Gladys Boss Shollei is the former Kenyan Chief Registrar of the Judiciary. She is also a Certified Public Secretary and the current Women Representative of Uasin Gishu county under the Jubilee Party.

Gladys had been married to the former Standard Group Manager Sam Kruschev Shollei and their marriage was doing just fine until Sam became unfaithful and was rumoured to be having an affair with a younger girl called Faith Rono. His relationship with Faith flourished to the point that he secured a top position for the village girl at Standard Group Media. In no time, Faith became the Senior Corporate Affairs Minister and was commodity known as ‘Mali ya Mkubwa,’ directly translated to ‘the senior man’s property.’ In 2016, Gladys Shollei lodged the divorce suit, claiming that he was abusive, he had denied him conjugal rights, he had neglected his responsibilities and that he was unfaithful. Recently, the divorce was awarded to them and she was granted custody of their 2 children plus she was to keep their 700M Kitisuru home plus their matrimonial home in Uasin Gishu.
Shocking to many, a few days after the divorce papers were out, Sam Shollei went ahead and married Faith Rono in a traditional Kalenjin wedding ceremony known as ‘koito’. The ceremony was attended by close relatives and friends. The wedding ceremony happened on January 10, 2020.

Gladys has always been a lover of agribusiness. When she got the chance, she decided to go ham on it and set up a dairy farm in her matrimonial home in Uasin Gishu county. The dairy farm is located at Plateau area of Uasin Gishu county. She keeps different breeds of cattle such as Guernsey, Friesian, Brown Swiss and Holsteins. The cows are kept in cubicles according to age and needs where they are fed, cleaned, milked and even vaccinated. The farm currently has over 250 cows and produces over 1500 litres of milk a day that is sold to milk ATMs and milk production companies such as KCC and Brookside.

Gladys Shollei was still the Chief Registrar of the Judiciary when the JSC had a meeting in her absence and asked her to take a 14 day leave on 17th August, 2013. On 9th September 2013, she was hit with 87 allegations and some of them included misappropriation of public funds, human resource mismanagement, engagement in sideshows, insubordination as well as illegalities in procurement. She was hence dismissed from office on 18th October, 2013 at the Supreme Court.

After being elected as the Women Representative of Uasin Gishu County, Gladys Shollei came up with a bill which seeks to create at least 179 positions for women in Parliament and county Assemblies through election and not via party nominations. In it, she wants the slots of the 47 women representatives as well as that of post election gender top ups in the senate and County Assemblies to be scrapped. She later on went ahead and proposed that the Amended constitution should have 94 senators, in the counties where one is a woman and one is a man. Gladys claims that hers is a human rights issue. If by chance the bill will end up being passed, a referendum will be needed to be passed since the bill weighs heavily on devolution and this can only be changed by a Proper Will.
